Project: MineSafe – AI-Powered Safety System for Underground Mining of Iron and Coal Ores
Creativity: MineSafe is an AI safety system for underground mining of iron and coal ores. The system detects harmful gases present in the mining field that workers may not be aware of, uses YOLO-based computer vision to spot hazards before they occur so workers can plan and execute evacuation routes, and detects flooding in underground mines. The platform runs locally on the Arduino UNO Q board, ensuring offline reliability where conventional networking is unavailable.
