What You'll Learn
Product Thinking & Hardware Design
We’ll walk through the complete process behind building a small hardware product:
- Understanding macro pad use-cases and workflows
- PCB design fundamentals
- Mechanical enclosure design
- Firmware basics and USB HID concepts
- Manufacturing considerations and prototyping
- Assembly, testing, and iteration
The workshop focuses on approachable hardware development and repairable open-source design principles.
The MacroPad Kit
The optional workshop kit includes:
- Mechanical switches & keycaps
- USB-C microcontroller
- Custom-designed PCB
- Enclosure components
- Assembly hardware
The workshop is beginner-friendly and focused on practical hardware development. Whether you're getting started with electronics or already building products, the session is designed to give you a complete overview of how a hardware product moves from idea to a working device.
If you purchase a kit, you'll build the macropad during the meetup and take it home with you.
Attendance & Kit Policy
The workshop itself is free to attend.
Kits are optional, but availability is limited.
- Paid kit holders get build priority
- Early RSVPs get preference for limited hands-on slots
- No kit? You can still attend, learn, interact, and follow along you just won’t be able to take a board home
